Block Chord Comping
Block Chords for Accompaniment
Block chords are the simplest accompaniment pattern — all chord tones played at once. This is the foundation of piano comping in pop, jazz, and hymn-style playing.
Unlike broken patterns, block chords emphasize harmonic rhythm — when the chord changes, rather than what the individual notes do.
