Natural Minor Scale
The Natural Minor Pattern
The natural minor scale follows the pattern W-H-W-W-H-W-W.
Starting from A: A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A.
Notice this uses only natural notes — A minor is the relative minor of C major, sharing the same key signature (no sharps or flats).
A Natural Minor Scale
Study the A natural minor scale ascending. Compare it to C major — same notes, different starting point and feel.
Play A Natural Minor
- Play the A natural minor scale ascending and descending
- Compare the sound to A major — notice the darker quality
- Focus on the half steps between B-C and E-F
